Programm zur Europawahl: Was uns schützt.
Vor diesem Hintergrund wollen wir Europa schützen, damit es uns schützt. Wir wollen es stärken, weil es uns stark macht. Wir wollen seine Handlungsfähigkeit sichern, um unsere Freiheit zu wahren.
Dafür müssen wir jetzt die nächste große Aufgabe angehen: Angesichts von wachsenden globalen Spannungen, technologischem Wandel und der Klimakrise müssen wir mehr tun, als den bestehenden Wohlstand bloß zu verteidigen. Wir müssen jetzt dort vorangehen, wo die Arbeitsplätze und der Wohlstand der nächsten Jahrzehnte entstehen.
Das gelingt nur europäisch. Europäisch aber kann es gelingen. Dafür legen wir ein Programm vor.
Im Zentrum unseres Angebots steht eine Infrastrukturunion aus Wasserstoffnetzen und Glasfaserleitungen, aus Stromtrassen und Schienen, aus Solarpanelen und Windparks – aber auch aus modernen Krankenhäusern und verlässlichen Kitas, aus Institutionen also und Standards, die Gerechtigkeit stärken und die Rechte aller schützen.
In einer Zeit, da insbesondere China und die USA massiv in die klimaneutrale Modernisierung ihrer Wirtschaft investieren, setzen wir uns für eine strategische europäische Investitionspolitik ein, die dafür sorgt, dass sich Europa im Rennen um den ersten klimaneutralen Wirtschaftsstandort der Welt durchsetzt.
Indem wir so die Wettbewerbsfähigkeit unserer Unternehmen auf den Märkten der Zukunft sichern, legen wir das Fundament für gute Jobs und faire Löhne, für die Gewinnung von Fach- und Arbeitskräften – und dafür, dass unser Wohlstand nicht nur bei einigen Wenigen, sondern tatsächlich in der Breite der Gesellschaft ankommt. Indem wir unseren Wohlstand auf klimaneutrale Beine stellen, schützen wir zudem unsere vielleicht kritischste Infrastruktur: die vielfältige Natur und Artenvielfalt, unsere Umwelt und unser Klima.
Europa zu stärken, ist also kein Selbstzweck. Wir tun es, um Wohlstand und Gerechtigkeit, Freiheit und Sicherheit zu schützen.
Wir wollen Verantwortung übernehmen. Deshalb treten wir an für eine Politik, die nicht übertönt, sondern überzeugt. Für eine Politik, die – gerade weil wir europäisch mehr erreichen können als im nationalen Alleingang – Europa besser machen will. Für eine Politik, die den Kompromiss sucht und bereit ist, über Schatten zu springen, wenn es bedeutet, dass wir dadurch gemeinsam vorankommen.
Denn europäischer Erfolg hat keine politische Farbe. Es zählt auch nicht, wer gewinnt oder Recht behält. Erfolgreich ist, was das Leben der Menschen in Deutschland und Europa lebenswerter macht. Was uns stärker macht. Was uns schützt.
Eine solche Politik: Das ist unser Angebot.
